Winnipeg, Canada’s Brad Katona in Isa Town, Bahrain to fight for BRAVE CF bantamweight belt – CONAN Daily

Brad “Superman” Katona, 30, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada is currently in Bahrain. He is ready to fight Hamza “The Pride of Bahrain” Kooheji29 years old, from Manama, Bahrain to “BRAVE CF 57“, the first one BRAVE Fighting Federation event in 2022.

“Bahrain is nothing but hospitable to me, so I’m grateful,” Katona said during the “BRAVE CF 57” launch press conference at Oasis Mall Juffair in Manama on March 9, 2022. “I I’m really excited to be here again for another fight against a local hero. It feels good.”


Katona was asked if he felt disturbed by the task at hand. He said, “Did you say I was shaking with fear? I don’t think I’m shaking with fear.

“I feel pretty comfortable,” Katona continued. “Honestly, I feel good. I’ve made a living out of it. It’s toughened me up as a fighter. I haven’t had the hometown advantage my whole career, so I’m used to that. .

Featuring 12 professional mixed martial arts bouts and one amateur MMA bout, “BRAVE CF 57” fight night will be held at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain on March 11, 2022. In the main event of the evening, Katona and Kooheji will compete for the vacant BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Championship.

Born in Winnipeg, Katona began training in karate in 1996 and earned his black belt in 2006. He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from University of Manitoba in Winnipeg.

When Katona made his professional MMA debut on September 3, 2014 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, he knocked out Michael Hay of Stony Plain, Alberta, Canada. The Winnipeg native was undefeated from 2014-2018.

In 2017 Katona moved to Dublin, Ireland. Since then he has been training with Straight Blast Gym Ireland to Dublin by coach John Kavanaugh.

On December 8, 2018, Katona made her Ultimate Fighting Championship his debut in Toronto, Ontario, Canada where he beat Matthew Lopez of Safford Arizona, USA by unanimous decision. In 2019, the Canadian MMA fighter lost to two UFC opponents namely Merab Dvalishvili from Tbilisi, Georgia and Azure Hunter of Poplar, Montana, USA.

Amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in 2020, Katona went on hiatus. In 2021, he joined BRAVE CF and defeated two opponents namely Borislav Nikolic from Belgrade, Serbia and Bair Shtepin from Kalmykia, Russia.



A total of 16 countries are represented at the “BRAVE CF 47”. These are Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, England, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, from Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Russia, Switzerland and Uzbekistan.

Fakhreddine and Ayoub are the only fighters representing Lebanon. Maalem only represents Algeria and is one of two fighters representing Switzerland.

“BRAVE CF 57” is part of the International BRAVE Fight Week 2022which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. the MMA Super Cup 2022 is also part of the combat sports event organized by BRAVE CF in cooperation with the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) and the Khalid Bin Hamad Sports Organization (KHK SPORTS).
