Walkin on Main is returning to Old Town Cottonwood this year

Saturday, November 13, 2021 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Old Town Cottonwood will be transformed as the annual Walkin ‘on Main festival returns for its 12th year. The family-friendly Veterans Day festival will include a full day of festivities, such as a wine tasting (all vets receive two additional tasting tickets), a vintage car show, live music and a variety of local vendors – all together among the shops, boutiques, tasting rooms and galleries lining the streets of Old Town Cottonwood.

“We are delighted to be back after missing a year because of COVID,” said Paula Woolsey, festival organizer. “This is generally one of the busiest festivals in Northern Arizona so we’re excited to once again showcase all that Cottonwood has to offer families, wine lovers, car enthusiasts, fans. music and art lovers across the state. There really is something for everyone.

Walkin ‘on Main is co-hosted by the Town of Cottonwood and the Verde Valley Wine Consortium. This year’s main sponsor is Red Rock Collision. The day’s activities are as follows:

Wine tasting hosted by 11 local wineries of the Verde Valley Wine Consortium

Showcasing some of the best wines in the state, oenophiles can sample 6 tastes + a commemorative drink (tickets are available online at www.azwom.com, or $ 25 at the door – all veterans and members of the the VVWC will receive 2 additional tasting tickets), as well as buying wines by the glass, bottle or case to enjoy later or save for holiday gifts. The Mingus Union Art Club will create live art along the sidewalks, as well as art exhibits, near the charming art galleries and shops that line Cottonwood Old Town.

Classic Car Show hosted by Red Rock Collision

Car enthusiasts will rejoice to see some of the state’s most unique cars, trucks and collector’s models being on display for photo ops and trending car discussions.

Live music throughout the day

Known for its entertainment, Walkin ‘on Main makes music a priority with full programming throughout the day. The Mingus High School Rock Band kicks off at 11 a.m., followed by Moon Tsunami with Paul Valentine from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and ends with the Well-Dressed Wolves from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Local artisans

From local artists and artisans to dog adoptions, there will be a variety of local vendors in attendance, selling their wares, homemade food and more.
