Winter continues in the Prescott weather region this week. The National Weather Service predicts an increased likelihood of snow showers Thursday. Prescott, Prescott Valley and Chino Valley are expected to receive intermittent showers Thursday and Thursday evening.

According to the National Weather Service, “confidence is growing in another round of snowfall accumulating later this week in northern Arizona.”

Here is an overview of the weather forecast for this week:

Tuesday Sunny, with highs near 53. Wind north 5 to 8 mph.
Tuesday evening Fairly clear, with a low around 24. Wind southwest 3 to 7 mph.
Wednesday Sunny, with high near 58. Wind light variable becoming southwest 12 to 17 mph in the morning. Winds could blow up to 28 mph.
Wednesday evening Fairly clear, with lows around 29. Wind south 8 to 14 mph, gusting up to 23 mph.
Thursday Chance of flurries before noon, then chance of rain showers. Mainly sunny, with highs near 51. Wind southwest 10 to 16 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could blow up to 25 mph. The chance of precipitation is 40%. Further snow accumulation less than half an inch possible.
Thursday evening 20% chance of flurries before 11 p.m. Partly cloudy, with lows around 20. Wind north 11 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 23 mph.
Friday Sunny, with highs near 54. Wind north 10-14 mph, gusting up to 22 mph.
Friday night Clear, with lows around 23. Wind north 5 to 10 mph, gusting to 16 mph.
