A new HGTV series promises to ‘kick off’ a city in upstate New York with a revitalization project.
The Hudson Valley Post reports that Cornwall, NY, is one of six small communities across the country that will receive “a push to re-energize their revitalization efforts” in the upcoming “Home Town Kickstart Presented By PEOPLE” TV show, hosted by Ben and Erin Napier. The Napiers previously remodeled their hometown of Laurel, Mississippi on HGTV’s “Home Town” and led a similar effort in Wetumpka, Alabama, on “Home Town Takeover.”
“We wondered if it was possible to do it here, so why can’t we do it in another small town,” Ben Napier said in a statement.
Discovery said in a press release that Cornwall will also receive a visit from interior remodeling experts like Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent (“The Nate and Jeremiah Home Project”), Ty Pennington (“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”) , Jasmine Roth (“Help! I destroyed my house”), and Alison Victoria (“Windy City Rehab”). The network did not specify who would visit the city of Cornwall in the Hudson Valley or other locations involved in the series, including Buffalo, Wyoming; Winslow, Arizona; LaGrange, Kentucky; Thomaston, Georgia; and Minden, Louisiana.
The VIPs will work with the Napiers to carry out three projects in each city: Refresh a local hero’s house; give a small business an upgrade; and revitalize a public space to improve the quality of life of residents and community pride.
âWe see the positive impact of this small renaissance town every day in Laurel,â Erin Napier said in a press release. âBen and I look forward to sharing everything we’ve learned with our fellow HGTV experts so they can help these communities achieve their goals. “
âHome Town Kickstartâ will debut in Spring 2022, and People magazine will also feature stories from each place and notable residents.
