Florida builder completes Denton County rental community

Florida-based apartment builder ZOM Living has completed its latest North Texas rental community in Denton County.

The Mezzo Apartments are located off US Highway 380 in the town of Aubrey, between Denton and Prosper.

The 378-unit project is the first such ZOM development in this region and the last of seven local rental communities for the builder.

Mezzo apartment rents start at $1,383 for a 700 square foot unit. The 13-building property includes coworking office space, tenant lounge, resort-style pool with outdoor kitchen and dining area, game room, fitness center, and dog park.

Synovus Bank financed the project and Stanford Construction was the general contractor. JHP Architecture designed the Denton County project.

The US Highway 380 corridor between Denton and McKinney is one of the fastest growing areas in North Texas with thousands of new homes and apartments and commercial space under construction

“ZOM Living continues to invest in Dallas given the strong fundamentals of its multifamily market, fueled by steady population and employment growth,” ZOM’s Jason Haun said in a statement.

ZOM Living is also building a nearly 400-unit rental community in Far North Dallas on the LBJ Freeway adjacent to the Dallas Galleria Mall. And the developer recently opened Atelier, a 41-story, 417-unit apartment tower in downtown Dallas.

ZOM currently has over 5,500 rental units in markets including Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Arizona and Washington DC

The D-FW area is the fastest growing apartment market in the country with over 40,000 new rental units under construction.
