Fans flock to Tourney Town for full NCAA Final Four experience – WCCO

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Hundreds of locals and foreigners flocked to Tourney Town ahead of Friday’s games.

The final four bands and cheerleaders brought the crowds into Tourney Town, a way to build on the excitement surrounding the Women’s Final Four.

“It’s really live, everyone’s in it,” Minnesotan Steven Grundy said.

Some came to encourage their favorite team Taking advantage of the moment while waiting for the tip.

“All the photo ops and the games and stuff, I think it’s awesome,” said Nan Fowler from California.

Tourney Town offers interactive experiences for all ages, from shooting baskets to mascot college where kids go through the stations to eventually graduate. And you can meet the team mascots.

“I love all the fun games and all the basketball games they have to play,” said Grade 3 student Anaya Raval of Woodbury.

Fans have come from near and far to be part of the fanfare that surrounds the tournament. It’s exciting even for those whose team didn’t make it. Jo Ann Kane came from Arizona.

“Our team isn’t there, so some of the angst and pressure has died down. But it’s really amazing to see women’s basketball taking center stage and all the attention being drawn to it” , Kane said.

Tourney Town is open again on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. All experiences here are free.
