Community Support Shines By Raising $ 540,000 | New

The Catholic Community Foundation welcomed nearly 600 supporters at its 32nd annual event, Crozier Gala Goes to Monte Carlo.

This year, the goal of the evening was to raise money for the foundation’s community grants. Recognizing that everyone has an innate desire to help others, the foundation has created a set of perpetual savings funds, called endowments, designed to meet critical needs within our community. This year was the first time in 32 years that the gala had a direct fundraising component.

“There are many long-time Gala supporters who experienced a very different evening than in years past,” said Deacon James Carabajal, CEO of the Catholic Community Foundation.

“The foundation is called upon to identify needs, mobilize donors and provide managed financial support to frontline organizations in our community. Times are very different and many, many local ministries need our help. We are here to do just that.

Title sponsors for the event included Catholic Education Arizona and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona.

Coming together to support the community

The evening’s featured event included a live auction fundraiser that directly supported the foundation’s Forever Fund endowments. These endowments are perpetual annual grants that fund community needs through the foundation’s Giving Circle program.

In its eighth year, the Giving Circle is a grant program that gives members a more active role in helping the community.

“It has become a part of our life to be a member of the Giving Circle,” said Jon Olson, Lifetime Giving Circle member and event attendee.

“It makes you appreciate the gifts God has given you and, in turn, can give them to someone else. Here is a great opportunity to be more intimate by taking care of the community. The foundation’s Giving Circle program is the only Catholic granting circle in Arizona.

Many ways to help

The evening’s events included browsing raffle items, casino games, live auctions and a taste of the foundation’s new program, the online donation platform Shop For A Cause.

This program offers individuals a secure way to meet the needs of local non-profit organizations. Organizations meet their needs, from diapers to Chromebooks, and donors can go online and buy, buy, and ship it all on one convenient and simple website.
