Cave Creek Prone Hospitality With Handlebars: Town Native Mike Edwards’ New Business Is Booming | Company

Mike Edwards is no stranger to hospitality. Working in the restaurant industry for 15 years, eight of which as a bartender, allowed him to identify a need in the community. A need for people to get home safely with services like Uber and Lyft not serving the area. Without lighted or paved walkways, an idea sprung up for Edwards as he thought of the 3-mile radius of Cave Creek.

As of 2019 he continued to refine the idea which has now become reality, the concept he now calls Handlebars.

“If you’re interested in learning more about the towns community and history, or just looking for the best tacos, Handlebars knows the way,” Edwards said.

He realized that if there was a service that made both historical tours and getting to your destination easy, that was exactly what Cave Creek needed.

Edwards bought five-seat golf carts with, of course, his handlebar mustache on the front so he could facilitate anything locals and tourists might need. He can pick you up from your hotel and show you around the area or bring you home safely after a night out.

Edwards, a Cave Creek native, knows just about everything there is to know about Cave Creek. He knows the owners of virtually every business, the best shops for the souvenir of your choice, and the path to the most unique dining experience in the area.

Guests coming to Cave Creek for a destination experience or stay call Handlebars to find out where to go and to avoid parking in the area. Edwards researched the area and realized that some places on the outskirts of town were available for services like Uber and so he saw a way to help people more by driving them to those pick up points. pickup.

“We are hospitable and I know almost everything about this city,” Edwards said.

The business is growing so available times are subject to change, but it is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2 p.m. to midnight, Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 2 a.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Most bars and hotels in the area have Handlebars contact information, but you can reach them directly at 480-488-4228 or visit handlebarcarts.com.
